DIY Buy List is a set of free calculators for people planning a home or garden project. Each one is built around the thing you need at the store: how many bags, boxes, gallons, sheets or bundles to buy.
What you get
- Results in store quantities. Answers are rounded up to whole packages, using common package sizes you can change.
- One list for the whole project. Add results from several calculators to a single buy list, then print or copy it.
- Links that keep your numbers. Copy a link to send a calculation to a contractor, friend or your own phone.
- No account needed. The calculations run in your browser, and your buy list stays on your device.
Where the numbers come from
The geometry is standard, and each calculator page shows its formula with a worked example. Package sizes, coverage figures and waste allowances are typical values for common products, and they vary between brands and regions. When a label or supplier gives a different figure, trust the label and enter that figure in the calculator.
What these calculators don't do
They estimate quantities. They do not design structures, check building codes or replace advice from a qualified professional. See our terms for details.
